PMU Foal Acquisition Network, Inc is proud to announce a transportation and veterinary subsidy program designed to help bring genuine PMU foals and older PMU horses into wonderful homes by defraying some of the costs involved. We also will be offering smaller subsidies for anyone that buys a foal or adult PMU at auction.

PLEASE NOTE: SUBSIDIES FOR PURCHASING PMU FOALS AND OLDER PMU HORSES FROM CANADIAN FARMERS MAY NOT BE OFFERED IN 2010 DEPENDING ON FANI'S ABILITY TO FUNDRAISE. CHECK THIS SPOT IN THE COMING MONTHS FOR SUBSIDY AVAILABILITY.

This subsidy is offered to those purchasing PMU foals and older PMU horses from Canadian or Dakota farmers in 2009. Qualifying foals and horses must be genuine PMUs from a urine-producing farm foaled from mares standing in production at the time of breeding.

To apply for a subsidy, you must complete a Subsidy Application. If approved, FANI may subsidize transportation and/or veterinary costs for foals and older PMUs who were purchased off the farms, if their prices do not exceed prices below:

$750 Light Breed
$850 Draft Cross
$1000 Full Draft
$1500 Adult PMUs

Subsidies will be approximately $400 US

SUBSIDY FOR PURCHASING PMU FOALS AND OLDER PMU HORSES FROM AUCTIONS IN 2010

This subsidy is offered to those purchasing PMU foals and older PMU horses from auctions in 2010. Qualifying foals and horses must be genuine PMUs from a urine-producing farm foaled from mares standing in production at the time of breeding.

To apply for a subsidy you must complete a Subsidy Application. If approved, FANI will subsidize purchase and/or veterinary costs for foals or older PMUs who were purchased from auctions in the US or Canada and their prices do not exceed prices below:

$300 Light Breed
$350 Draft Cross
$400 Full Draft
$500 Adult PMU

Subsidies will be approximately $250 US

FANI suggests that you become pre-approved (by submitting a Subsidy Application) PRIOR to purchasing your foal so that FANI can review your application and make a decision before expenses are incurred.

Eligible foals must be purchased on or before November 1, 2009, and must be delivered to you by December 31, 2009.

To collect an approved subsidy, you will be required to provide Bill of Sale or Border Crossing papers plus two of the following documents as proof of purchase:

• Bill of Sale (required for all auction foals)
• Coggins
• Health Certificate
• Border crossing papers
• Hauling invoice
• Photo of Foal in it's new home
• Veterinary invoice for immunizations after delivery

Buyers of auctions foal must show which PMU farm the foal originated from or the buyer must show proof the foal is Naeric Advantage eligible

Subsidy money will be sent to the buyer when FANI has received and verified documents showing purchase and delivery.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

If a foal is held back at the border due to health issues or a shipping delay occurs due to inclement weather, FANI will consider extending the deadline on a case-by-case basis, provided the subsidy money already is reserved.

In offering this program FANI does not guarantee the condition or health of the foal and does not guarantee the hauler’s performance. FANI is neither the buyer nor seller of these foals but is merely administering a subsidy program to help PMUs.
