Subsidy Program

The 2007 Subsidy program is now closed. Please feel free to still apply if another subsidy comes available.

PMU Foal Acquisition Network, Inc is proud to announce a transportation and veterinary subsidy program designed to help bring genuine PMU foals and older PMU horses into wonderful homes by defraying some of the costs involved. We also will be offering smaller subsidies for anyone that buys a foal or adult PMU at auction.
The first 17 subsidy recipients will receive a new Okeden Bay multi-tasking working halter, compliments of Okeden Bay Equine Products, Inc.

The halters are light weight with four adjustable quick release points, reflective tape, rolled deerskin lining, and a handy storage/carrying case. These gorgeous halters are great for training, trailering, grooming and turn-out.
FANI sends out a big THANK YOU to Okeden Bay for the very kind donation and we wish our members will remember to visit them for all their halter needs.

SUBSIDY FOR PURCHASING PMU FOALS AND OLDER PMU HORSES FROM CANADIAN FARMERS IN 2007

This subsidy is offered to those purchasing PMU foals and older PMU horses from Canadian farmers in 2007. Qualifying foals and horses must be genuine PMUs from a urine-producing farm foaled from mares standing in production at the time of breeding.
To apply for a subsidy, you must be a Voting member of FANI and complete a Subsidy Application. If approved, FANI will subsidize transportation and/or veterinary costs for foals and older PMUs who were purchased off the farms in Canada and transported to the USA and their prices do not exceed prices to the right:

$750 Light Breed
$850 Draft Cross
$1000 Full Draft
$1500 Adult PMUs

Subsidies will be approximately $350 US

SUBSIDY FOR PURCHASING PMU FOALS AND OLDER PMU HORSES FROM AUCTIONS IN 2007

This subsidy is offered to those purchasing PMU foals and older PMU horses from auctions in 2007. Qualifying foals and horses must be genuine PMUs from a urine-producing farm foaled from mares standing in production at the time of breeding.
To apply for a subsidy you must be a Voting member of FANI and complete a Subsidy Application. If approved, FANI will subsidize purchase and/or veterinary costs for foals or older PMUs who were purchased from auctions in the US or Canada and their prices do not exceed prices to the right:

$300 Light Breed
$350 Draft Cross
$400 Full Draft
$500 Adult PMU

Subsidies will be approximately $200 US

FANI suggests that you become pre-approved (by joining FANI and submitting a Subsidy Application) PRIOR to purchasing your foal so that FANI can review your application and make a decision
before expenses are incurred.

Eligible foals must be purchased on or before November 1, 2007, and must be delivered to you by December 31, 2007.

To collect an approved subsidy, you will be required to provide Bill of Sale or Border Crossing papers plus two of the following documents as proof of purchase:

Subsidy money will be sent to the buyer when FANI has
received and verified documents showing purchase and delivery.

If a foal is held back at the border due to health issues or a shipping delay occurs due to inclement weather, FANI will consider extending the deadline on a case-by-case basis, provided the subsidy money already is reserved.

In offering this program FANI does not guarantee the condition or health of the foal and does not guarantee the hauler’s performance. FANI is neither the buyer nor seller of these foals but is merely administering a subsidy program to help PMUs.
