Important Information for all adopters!
When looking at photos of very young foals:
Many from the A farm this year (and even some from Y), please keep in mind many of those foals are about 2 to 3 days old when the photos were taken, some as early as a day old.
Many foals are born looking as though they are "over" at the knee - this is
because they have been folded in the womb with their legs folded for so much of
the last term of the pregnancy...they do not immediately completely unfold and
straighten. It takes several days to a couple of weeks for that to happen, as
the foals move around and the tendons stretch. The same can hold true for some
legs that look slightly deviated or crooked.

Foals also do not completely fill in until they are several days old. They are
born looking sinewy and ribby, but fill in and begin to muscle within several
days.
So, as you look at photos of very, very young PMU foals, please keep this in
mind. These foals will not compare favorably to foals photographed at even one
week of age, but given a couple of weeks, they will look like normal foals.
